Fun with Dick and Jane
vanou:
Jim Carrey didn't annoy me as much as I thought he would, which is a good thing.
I think the fact that Tea Leoni was playing the wife helped, I really like that actrice.
The movie was entertaining, with some "LOL" time for me... (again ask MP)
But Jim Carrey does his annoying body moves as some point in the movie, which I could go without.
The story line is interesting... a long long time ago in ... 2000...
And I didn't see the ending come from miles away, which is always fun for the audience.
Saw it, won't see it again, unless it's playing on tv and nothing else is on.

'We might be in a bit of a pickle, Dick!'
Don't you just love Téa Léoni. Like Vanou, I am not a huge fan of Jim Carrey. He's a bit out there for my taste. But, when paired with the down to earth Léoni, it created a nice balance. She toned him down, without being boring herself. It was a better movie than I thought it would be to be honest. The preview made it up as a much more slapstick comedy than anything else. I was happy to see it was about a little more than a couple robbing and stealing with huge masks on.
Some LOL moments for me too, (i especially liked the very last line of the movie, that made it for me). Loved that their kid had an accent cause he spends more time with the spanish nanny than his own parents. Loved the whole thing about how it was ridiculously important for them to keep up appearences. See them try was quite funny.
I think when you willingly go see a movie like that you just have to seen it for what it is. And so, not the best movie ever made, of course, but not a bad first trip back to the movies in Canada.
